Bouldering 101Bouldering 101 at Castle Climbing Club is a free clinic lead each week designed to show you some basics to climbing in the gym. Lead by our expert route setters, you will learn a general orientation to climbing at the castle! We will cover basics of route reading, climbing technique practice, and work on proper falling techniques. This class is a great intro or refresher for new climbers or those returning to the gym. A great opportunity to meet other members, develop your climbing basics, and practice techniques for injury avoidance. New to climbing and want a little help? Coming back from some time off the wall? Confused on what the tape is all about? Scared of falling off? This course is a great intro to help address these questions and keep you climbing and having fun!
Boulder Better With KailasBoulder Better with Kailas
90 min sessions Thursdays starting April 2nd at 7pm for six weeks.
Participants will create realistic goals for improvement and establish a relationship with the coach Kailas who will provide them the structure and means to reach those goals.
Kailas will facilitate team exercises and projecting while providing guidance and encouragement.
Each session will have a different daily focus.
Boulder Better will build strength problem solving, and give participants the means to progress and learn about the sport.

Have you been climbing for a while and think you have what it takes to be a route setter?
The route setting experience is taught by our Head Route Setter Zagy and our assistant Head Route Setter Stef Mry. Together they have over 20 years of setting experience.

Schedule:
Setting intro 5-10 minutes
Setting boulders 110 minutes
Brake 30 minutes
Forerunning intro 10 minutes
Forerunning 170 minutes
Student to Instructor ratio 6 -1
Things we will go over, how to use an impact driver, how to attach a hold to the wall, The F,F,F, principle, The R,I,C, scale, and much more. You will get to set your own boulder/s and then forerun them the same way we do when setting. We will also answer any questions you may have.
Tools will be provided.
Things to bring; everything you would bring to go climbing normally, closed-toed shoes, water bottle, snacks/ food you want to eat, headphones if you want to listen to music while setting, work gloves if you want to use them, a willingness to learn.
